32. APPROVAL TO AWARD BID #12-0145 FOR AIR CONVEYANCE SYSTEM CLEANINGDescription Bids to provide 'Air Conveyance System Cleaning' were received from six vendors on May 30, 2012. The bid of Simpson Environmental Services was the best low bid meeting the advertised specifications. This bid is for a period of one year with the option to renew for two additional one-year periods. The funds for these purchases are contained in the transfer from capital budget allocated to the Facilities Services Department.

33. APPROVAL OF UPDATE #3 TO THE 2012 ANNUAL CERTIFICATION OF PROFESSIONALS FOR CONSTRUCTION RELATED SERVICESDescription
The recommended professionals have submitted request for annual certification by the School Board to provide professional construction related services for Sarasota County School Board projects. These submissions are in accordance with School Board Policy #7.71. The initial list was Board approved 1/3/2012 (Item #51). The newly added firms are identified, on the enclosure, at the end of the initial listing in bold print. Upon Board approval, the pertinent date from these submissions will be incorporated to the existing list.

Under the terms of the May 1, 2012, (Item #35) Board approved "Agreement between Owner and Construction Manager for Pre-Construction & Bidding Services", the Director of Construction Services and a member of the Professional Services Selection Committee (PSSC) have successfully negotiated a contract with P.J. Hayes, Inc. dba Tandem Construction for the Construction for Sarasota High School Renovation and New Construction Project-Phase I. This contract was negotiated on June 8, 2012. The May 1, 2012 agreement included pre-construction and bidding services only.
This Contract for Construction-Phase I includes the work necessary for the repair and renovation of Building #42 to be used as both permanent and temporary program space during the construction process on this campus.
The scope includes lighting and ceiling upgrades, restroom upgrades, painting, flooring, electrical work to support the relocated Art Program (power for kilns), interior partition walls, and some minor exterior envelope modifications.
The Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP) of this contract is $443,881.00. This contract is available for review at the Construction Services Department. The School Board attorney has approved the use of this contract. Funds for this contract are available in the project budget account.
Recommendation That the Contract for Construction for Sarasota High School Renovation and New Construction Project-Phase I be approved as presented.
35. APPROVAL AND/OR RATIFICATION OF CONSTRUCTION SERVICES' CHANGE ORDER(S)Description That the Construction Services' Change Order(s) be approved and/or ratified as presented.
Recommendation
The Construction Services' Change Order(s) are summarized on the enclosure for ease of review. These change orders collectively total a decrease of $152,807.57 in gross contract dollars.
Included in these change orders are $173,055.00 credits for Direct Material Purchases; the corresponding Direct Material Purchase Orders of $163,165.00 result a net of $9,890.00 in sales tax savings.
